intu, the leading owner, developer and manager of prime regional shopping centres in the UK, has signed Five Guys to beef up its dining offer in Derby.
The American burger chain will open its 2,612 sq ft space at intu Derby in December, close to Hollywood Bowl and Paradise Island Adventure Golf, which launched earlier this year.
Neville Maling, head of property at Five Guys said: “Securing a prominent space alongside the city’s best new leisure extension is an important part of our expansion plans. With this exciting leisure offer, 23 million visits each year and 2.2m catchment population, intu Derby is the perfect fit for Five Guys’s newest restaurant.”
Nick Round, regional managing director of intu, said: “We’ve been well placed to support Five Guy’s UK expansion in recent years, with new openings across our national portfolio of shopping centres. The restaurant is set to be a sizzling success at intu Derby as it will perfectly complement the centre’s rapidly growing leisure offer which is driving even more customers to the centre from day to evening, which in turn is helping all our retailers flourish.”
In addition to Five Guys, intu Derby will also be welcoming a new 1,769 sq ft store for outdoor clothing and footwear brand, Timberland, set to open later this year. The store will be situated on the first floor adjacent to New Look Men and Jack & Jones, adding yet another great brand to intu Derby’s growing retail mix.
To complete the trio of new openings, Starbucks will reopen after relocating to new premises. The global coffee chain will give intu customers another great reason to visit the centre.
