Legal & General has let a 20,000 sq ft industrial unit to Howdens Joinery, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of fitted kitchens.
Unit 2 at Perry Park Industrial Estate, Walsall Road, Birmingham, B42 1BT, has been let to Howdens on a new 15 year lease. Birmingham independent commercial property agency KWB and Darby Keye acted as joint agents on behalf of Legal & General’s Industrial Property Investment Fund.
Unit 2 is a 19,946 sq ft modern steel portal frame industrial unit with 5.25 m eaves height, situated on the A34 main route from Junction 7 of the M6 to the city centre, in an established trade location. Selco Builders Warehouse is also located on Perry Park. The building was extensively refurbished and let quickly after the completion of the works.
A trade-only business established in 1995, Howdens operates 640 depots across the UK and last year supplied over 400,000 kitchens, 2.5 million doors and 770,000 appliances to UK homes.
Kenny Allan, Director of Industrial Agency at KWB, says: “We were delighted to help Legal & General’s Industrial Property Investment Fund in the marketing of this excellent building, and it is great to secure a tenant of the calibre of Howdens. It speaks volumes for the quality of the building and location. There was fierce competition for this unit and we are confident that Howdens will have a successful future at Perry Park.”
