TWL acquires Danwood Wales’ telephony client base

Business telecoms provider TWL Voice & Data has acquired the telephony client base of Wales’ largest independent supplier of integrated office products and services.

The Cardiff-based company, which specialises in providing comprehensive telecommunications solutions to businesses across south Wales, has reached an agreement with Danwood Wales, part of the Danwood Group, to take over the maintenance of over 200 customers’ telephone systems for an undisclosed fee.

The acquisition of Danwood Wales’ telephony customers increases TWL’s client base by 70% and increases revenue by £100,000 for 2012.

As part of the deal, TWL will take on two of Danwood Wales’ system engineers and add Siemens to its portfolio of telephone systems which currently includes market leaders Toshiba and Mitel.

Going forward TWL hopes to introduce these new clients to its other services which include data cabling, fixed lines and mobile phone data solutions.

Andrew Nicholson, managing director of TWL Voice and Data, said of the acquisition: “The Danwood Wales customer base is an excellent fit for TWL. We are pleased to welcome our new customers into the fold and will work hard to ensure they have a seamless transfer. They will benefit from having access to a greater variety of unified communications solutions adding value to their existing contracts. By introducing Siemens to our range of systems, we are now able to target previously untapped sectors and clients, providing them with an even greater variety of technology to choose from.”

Danwood Wales’ telephony client base was born out of its acquisition of Cardiff-based Algebra when it launched in Wales in 2009. The print and document management supplier is the largest independent company of its kind in Wales and has seen its own recent growth through the acquisition of SET Digital Solutions under the leadership of managing director Richard Corkhill.

Mr Corkhill said: “The core of our business and where our specialties lie is in supplying office printing equipment and document management solutions. We took the decision to transfer the telephony side of the business that was born out of our acquisition in 2009 to focus on growing what we do best. A lot of due diligence was done in selecting the right telephony partner and TWL impressed us with the level of service they offer their clients and the strength of the team and their offering. We know that our telephony clients will be in good hands and we wish Andrew and his team every success going forward.”
