Leading law firm Freeth Cartwright is gearing up to open a new office in Sheffield. This will increase the total number of offices to 9, as the firm currently has offices in Birmingham, Derby, Leicester, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Nottingham and Stoke.
Freeth Cartwright chief executive, Peter Smith, said: “Our expansion into Sheffield underlines the firm’s national growth plans, which reflect our belief that we need to consolidate our position and achieve economies of scale to remain competitive in the new environment brought about by the Legal Services Act.
“It is also becoming increasingly important that we offer enhanced national coverage to our clients, whilst maintaining our commitment to the local market in each of our offices.”
Sheffield Managing Partner, John May, added: “As a long established firm in the Midlands, we are making rapid progress in establishing our presence in the North of the country. Our successful office in Manchester has now been open for over 5 years and it is time to build on that platform with an office East of the Pennines. We are starting, as we did in Manchester, with a small nucleus of people but we expect to grow quickly, both in Sheffield itself and elsewhere in the region.”
The new office will open on 8 May and is located at Leopold Wing, Fountain Precinct, Balm Green, Sheffield S1 2JA. News of the new office comes shortly after the national firm announced its merger with seven-partner Milton Keynes firm Kimbells on 1 November last year and completed the integration of Stoke-based legal firm KJD Freeth LLP at the beginning of April.
