In bringing Kuehne + Nagel, one of the distribution industries biggest names to Carlton-on-Trent, Tim Gilbertson of FHP has concluded one of the largest lettings in the East Midlands on the A1 Corridor in recent years.
To facilitate their relocation from Newark, a lease has been completed on a modern warehouse at Carlton-on-Trent, literally adjoining the A1 north of Newark of just over 70,000ft².
This letting compliments an earlier deal on the site this year of over 35,000ft².
Tim Gilbertson, who dealt with both disposals commented:
“Our occupier here needed to relocate from their Newark base but remain within close proximity of the A1, a key road link for their supply chain business whilst remaining in close proximity of their former unit to ensure staff retention. Pleasingly therefore my client’s property at Ossington Road, Carlton-on-Trent, just off the A1 appealed and a deal was swiftly agreed and eventually documented.
This letting of just over 70,000ft² is one of the largest in the East Midlands element of the A1 Corridor in recent times and I am delighted to bring success for my client, particularly as we had earlier let a further warehouse on the same site of just over 35,000ft² on a long term lease.
To create full occupation again for our client’s estate here is very satisfying especially as he has been a pleasure to deal with throughout.
Stock levels throughout the region, not only on the A1 but on the M1 Corridor and indeed all major towns and cities between remain painfully thin and a recent rash of deals has seen those levels reduce still further. I have any number of potential tenants or indeed purchasers lined up seeking space in the East Midlands of 20,000ft² plus so would be delighted to hear from any potential clients looking to sell or let their warehouse or production space.”
