Sainsbury’s has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to supply estate management services to support its current and future UK property requirements.
Sainsbury’s awarded the contract, which commences in November, following a thorough review of its property needs in light of the acquisition last year of Home Retail Group. The integration of the businesses creates a portfolio of more than 2,000 stores and operational properties.
The contract will be managed by Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Occupier Services (GOS) business, under the account leadership of Peter Hulme, who heads the Occupier Management service line in EMEA.
James Maddock, Head of GOS EMEA, Cushman & Wakefield, commented: “We are delighted to be appointed to work with Sainsbury’s as their estate management provider. This award is evidence that clients see significant value in the strength of Cushman & Wakefield’s market-leading business in the UK. Sainsbury’s will be a flagship client for our GOS business, and we are very pleased to be able to support them at this exciting time.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s Occupier Management team offers lease administration, implementation, ongoing management, and treasury payment services – adding value by bringing portfolio and operational data, market intelligence and analytics together into meaningful management information to support improved decision-making and operational strategy.
Across EMEA, Cushman & Wakefield’s GOS team works with more than 200 clients in 43 countries across 100 offices.
