A deal has been secured for the sale of key development plots at Ventura Park in Carterton to AirTanker Services. The owners of the plots, advised by Bidwells, have agreed the deal with the consortium of leading aerospace, defence and facilities management specialists, paving the way for the development of a new 20,000 sq ft office building.
The serviced building plots sit at the heart of Oxfordshire’s Ventura Park, an employment park just outside Carterton town centre, strategically located between the M5, M4 and M40 motorway networks.
AirTanker Services is a consortium comprising Babcock, Cobham, Airbus Group, Rolls-Royce and Thales. The company has made the acquisition to consolidate existing offices and accommodate future growth as it delivers aircraft, infrastructure, service, training and expertise, in support of Voyager, the RAF’s new generation multi-role tanker transport aircraft (MRTT), the UK Armed Forces and their global partners.
The consortium, which was established at RAF Brize Norton, has secured planning permission from West Oxfordshire District Council to transform the plots into a new 20,000 sq ft office building. Developer Robert Hitchins Ltd will begin construction of the new office imminently, with a scheduled completion date of Spring 2018.
Bidwells Associate Robert Beatson said: “AirTanker is a major employer in Oxfordshire and so it is great news that they have chosen to remain at Carterton. The new 20,000 sq ft offices will be a landmark building and the consortium’s commitment underlines the ongoing appeal of Ventura Park.”
