The recently-refurbished 500,000 sq ft South Wales Distribution Centre (SWDC) at Kenfig Industrial Estate, South Wales is now fully let, following a deal to lease the final 77,000 sq ft of available warehouse space to a major online retailer.
Landlord Westcore Europe was represented in the deal by commercial property agents Knight Frank and DLP Surveyors.
Neil Francis, partner at Knight Frank in Cardiff, said: “Westcore’s commitment in investing over £2.5 million in refurbishment of the available space has paid superb dividends with the 497,314 sq ft centre now fully let. More than 150,000 sq ft has been let within the past 12 months.”
Neil Francis added: “Whilst the units are now fully let the opportunity still exists for a bespoke new-build development of up to 35,000 sq ft on available land. Alternatively, we will lease this area for open storage or trailer parking.”
The latest letting follows the lease of an 80,000 sq ft warehouse to a FTSE 100 company.
Mike Bruce at DLP Surveyors said: “The strategic location of SWDC, on Kenfig Industrial Estate and just off Junctions 37 and 38 of the M4 between Cardiff and Swansea, makes it extremely attractive to occupiers, particularly with recently-improved road links providing excellent access to the motorway network The centre’s location, as well as the quality of the accommodation on offer, have undoubtedly been contributory factors in securing the high-profile tenants to SWDC.”
