An up-and-coming legal trainee at a leading Shropshire law firm is a step nearer to becoming a fully-fledged Solicitor after being named as a Fellow of a prestigious industry body.
David Adams, a Legal Executive at the Shrewsbury head office of PCB Solicitors, has successfully become a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX), and is now in the final year of studying a post-graduate Legal Practice Course (LPC), which once completed will enable him to progress to be a fully-fledged solicitor.
David joined PCB Solicitors in the summer of 2005 after studying A-Levels at Telford Sixth Form College, and has since combined his full-time day-to-day duties in the firm’s Criminal Law department with obtaining all the necessary qualifications he has required to become a Legal Executive.
“David’s progression to date shows that in this day and age, going to university isn’t a prerequisite to having a successful career in law,” Mike Surzyn, Partner and Solicitor at PCB Solicitors, commented. “He has shown real dedication and determination to combine a full-time role here with all the additional work needed to gain essential industry qualifications. We are sure that he will complete his LPC with flying colours in the next few months and continue to be a huge asset for us in the years to come.”
David Adams said: “Becoming a Fellow of CILEX is a tremendous accolade and one that I’m very proud of. I’m now working towards achieving my LPC, and hopefully before the end of the year I will be qualified as a Solicitor specialising in Criminal Law. This will enable me to capitalise on the valuable experience I’ve already picked up in the area, such as advising clients at police stations and preparing Crown Court cases.”
