Acting on behalf of the owner, CBRE’s Liverpool Office has been appointed on the City’s iconic Royal Liver Building, just a few months after the historic sale of the building which the property experts also advised on.
CBRE has been instructed across three key divisions – Office Agency, Asset Services and Building Consultancy.
The Royal Liver Building was sold in February 2017 for the very first time in its history. CBRE advised on the sale, attracting global investor interest before selling it for £48 million in a highly competitive sale process. The Grade I Listed building, one of the Three Graces and an iconic symbol of Liverpool, was formerly owned by the Royal London Mutual Insurance Society.
The refurbishment programme also includes the common areas where the landlord will deliver a raft of amenities which occupiers are now seeking as a pre-requisite when looking to satisfy their requirements.
Built in 1911, the Royal Liver Building has an unrivalled, prime position on the City’s waterfront overlooking the River Mersey and it is within walking distance of Liverpool’s many amenities. Just a stone’s throw away on the waterfront, is the new architecturally acclaimed Museum of Liverpool. Within 5 minutes walk is Tate Liverpool, the historic Albert Dock and Liverpool ONE – a 1.5 million sq ft development of shopping and leisure.
James Street Merseyrail station is a short distance away across the Strand. The Merseyrail underground loop line provides access to all city centre stations, including Liverpool Lime Street which provides mainline service connections to major UK towns and cities. London Euston is just over 2 hours away.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is approximately 7.5 miles south east of Liverpool City Centre and is one of Europe’s fastest growing airports with flights to over 70 destinations. Manchester Airport is within 45 minutes’ drive.
Andrew Byrne, Associate Director, CBRE’s Office Agency in Liverpool, said:
“We are proud to be instructed as agents for the Royal Liver Building, an enduring symbol of Liverpool’s history. It is a stunning Liverpool landmark and an integral part of the city’s business community, already home to several regional, national and international businesses. This programme of investment is set to breathe new life into what is possibly one of the most iconic buildings in the UK and create hugely desirable premier space to suit a variety of companies.”
