TIS, the UK’s leading independent fire, security and communication specialists, have completed work on the East Midlands Chamber’s new premises at Commerce House, Millenium Way in Chesterfield. The project was an installation of a full IP CCTV system to the external perimeter of the building and a takeover of the existing intruder and fire alarm systems with offsite monitoring. The new building is a modern three-story office building that is perfect to meet the changing needs of a 21st century business. In addition to open plan general offices, Commerce House has a number of smaller rooms, adjustable training suites, a boardroom and a catering centre – all of which can be accessed without walking through the Chamber’s main office.
As a patron member of the East Midlands Chamber, TIS were delighted to have been included in the tender process for this project and were even more so to be awarded the contract. The contract was to provide a solution to their CCTV needs and to manage the maintenance on both their intruder and fire alarm systems – their security needs were due to the nature of the buildings uses.
The intruder alarm and fire alarm system cover the entirety of the building and the CCTV system covers the externals of the building as well as the lift lobbies, reception and communal corridors. TIS provided the users of the intruder alarm with fob setting/un-setting and an off-site monitoring unit for both the fire and intruder systems. The recording equipment is an NVR with the ability to be viewed across the client network.
The Chamber is the leading voice for business in the East Midlands. With a membership base of 4,000+ businesses and 3,000 affiliates, the East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) is the largest business representation organisation in the region. Local delivery is provided from locations across three counties, including main offices in Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham and Leicester. They recently moved to a new location for their Chesterfield office therefore new security was required throughout the building.
Shannon Bell, Project Manager at TIS said, “Working alongside Andy and his team made the job a lot more straight forward. Any information or assistance we required was met with 100% support”.
Andy Watterson Business Crime Manager at East Midlands Chamber said “We are delighted with the service and solutions provided by TIS. Shannon was a pleasure to work with and really took the time to understand our needs, this ensured the solution was exactly what we needed. It’s the first time we had worked with TIS and we were really impressed with the level of expertise ”.
