Specialist property consultancy Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP (HTC) has reported not just its fourth consecutive year of growth, but its best results since 2007.
In a market where consolidation among global giants and fragmentation towards niche sole practitioners were supposed to be the dominant theme, the performance of HTC’s London and Bristol offices demonstrates that the future is bright for medium-sized firms.
Turnover increased by 19 per cent in 2016, with profit increasing by 26 per cent year-on-year. This puts the firm very much on target to hit its business plan target of 50 per cent growth over a three-year period.
Stuart Howell, managing partner, said: “2016 was a really strong year for the firm with a number of large investment deals in the City of London and a number of notable new instructions won nationwide, and we’ve continued that momentum into 2017. The message is loud and clear that firms like us can provide local and national hands-on advice with a wide range of expertise under one roof, providing clients with great service.”
And HTC is building on its strengths to keep the momentum up, with a raft of promotions and new appointments that will improve its ability to service clients across its key sectors.
Jonathan Marwood has joined the partnership, with effect from 1 May 2017.
Howell said: “Jonathan’s hard work over the last few years has put us in a good position with the government framework and he will continue to develop this business stream, take responsibility for the firm’s compliance and work closely with Nic Rumble and Andrew Batchelor on strategic residential land positions.”
HTC has also created a new department, to be headed by Nic Rumble, who becomes senior associate and Head of the newly created department, Residential Development.
Chris Wright has also been appointed as a senior associate following a year in which he has cemented HTC’s business space team in London and successfully concluded some significant transactions.
The project & building consultancy team goes from strength to strength, HTC said, with Robin Castle being appointed as a director of the firm and Rhys Davies being named as a senior associate.
Jack Davies, meanwhile, has been promoted to senior surveyor following a very valuable contribution to the retail team. In addition, seven new surveyors have been appointed across the firm’s two offices.
