Midlands property figurehead Peter Deeley lifted the lid on the development of Belgrade Plaza in Coventry at an industry event hosted by law firm Wright Hassall.
More than 100 business professionals from across the region attended the firm’s latest LawBytes event held in partnership with construction and development company Deeley Group at the Warwickshire Golf Club in Leek Wootton.
The Belgrade Plaza Partnership is a major regeneration project that was started back in 2003 and now includes an award-winning car park, hotels, restaurants, gym and soon to be completed student accommodation.
Mr Deeley shared the background to the project, including developing Belgrade Plaza amidst the financial crash of 2008 and the discovery of a World War II bomb on site, through its role in the wider regeneration of Coventry city centre.
Michael Hiscock, construction partner at Wright Hassall, said: “It was extremely interesting to hear Peter’s insights on town and city regeneration and his experience leading the team behind a successful mixed-use development.
“The event was one of most popular LawBytes seminars we’ve held and is testament to the respect the industry has for Peter Deeley and what he has achieved at the Deeley Group. It was a valuable session which our guests took a lot away from.”
