A Cardiff intellectual property firm is making a landmark move on the national stage by establishing its first London office.
The office, in Moorgate, will complement the specialist firm’s regional base, which includes offices in Cardiff, Cheltenham and Telford.
The office will be headed up by Wynne-Jones IP’s long-serving Partner and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, Victor Caddy, who is relocating to the capital. He has more than 20 years’ experience as a Trade Mark and Design Attorney and Litigator.
Thanks to its growing presence across Wales and the South West, the firm has enjoyed enduring success over the past 53 years, and Mr Caddy believes the time is now right to branch out into the capital. He said the move was a “no-brainer” for Wynne Jones IP in the run up to Brexit.
He said: “This move is particularly significant in that it will allow us to provide our industry-leading services from the heart of the UK’s capital city and continue to support our clients as part of Aipex.
“Aipex is a pan-European IP law firm we part own with a small number of IP firms in other key European countries and it enables us to act as regional counsel for clients with interests in Europe as a whole, not just the UK and not just the European Union.
“With Brexit on the horizon, the advantages of this over a conventional firm with only a national presence are obvious.
“This new venture is also extremely exciting for me personally. It has long been an ambition of mine at a professional level for Wynne-Jones to link the great capital cities of England and Wales, and I am looking forward to the synergy this will produce. I have long been of the view that our track record of providing an excellent client experience, combined with the commercial and legal expertise for which we are renowned worldwide, will be a foundation for success in London.
“Positioning ourselves in London means we can serve a new and diverse client base while, at the same time, through Aipex, strengthening the support we provide to clients in Wales and the South West of England on the European stage.”
