Carter Jonas has recently expanded its commercial team in Cambridge with the appointment of Kate Lea as Associate Partner within the development team and Imogen Bryan as Associate in the valuations team. These latest hires represent an important expansion within the team as it increasingly broadens the scope of its work.
Kate joins Carter Jonas with a wealth of knowledge as an experienced development surveyor. Prior to joining, she was a Senior Fund Manager at Legal & General Property where she developed and implemented portfolio and property strategies. She has also worked at St John’s College and Gonville and Caius College on the masterplanning of their operational and investment portfolios.
Kate Lea, Associate Partner, said: “This is an exciting time to join Carter Jonas when the business is expanding at such a rapid rate. The Cambridge market is lacking secondary commercial stock so development and investment is necessary to ensure that the city continues its current trajectory and retains its position as one of the most important regions for economic growth in the UK.”
Imogen joins Carter Jonas with just under 10 years’ experience in the commercial property market, specialising in the retail sector. She has extensive experience in shopping centre investment and her new role will focus on the valuation of investment and owner occupied commercial properties. As part of her role within the valuations team she will be providing advice to a wide range of clients including the main lending banks and government bodies. Prior to joining Carter Jonas, Imogen spent nine years with Cushman & Wakefield, where she worked within the Corporate Services and Retail Investment teams. Transactions she was involved in include La Salle IM’s purchase of Church Square Shopping Centre in St Helens and M&G’s sale of The Grafton Centre in Cambridge.
Imogen Bryan, Associate at Carter Jonas, said: “I’m excited to be joining the valuations team at such a pivotal point in its growth. Carter Jonas has some great clients and I’m looking forward to helping add value to both the team and the companies it provides services for.”
Will Mooney, Partner, Carter Jonas said: “We are delighted to welcome Kate to enhance our development team. Her wealth of experience and skill sets will help us to continue to grow and give our clients a more diversified offer. We have also seen a marked increase in demand for valuations in the past couple of years and Imogen’s appointment will help ensure that we continue to effectively serve our clients’ requirements, as well as adding valuable expertise in the retail investment sector.”
