Knight Frank has recruited Sam Waterworth and Will Lund to its retail investment team.
Both men join the firm from Cushman & Wakefield, where they each gained several years’ experience in their specialist markets. Sam will join as an Associate, focussing on high street investments, whilst Will joins as a qualified surveyor, continuing his work in the shopping centre sector.
Between them, the two men have impressive experience under their belts, having worked with clients including: LaSalle, M&G Real Estate, KPMG and Moorfield.
The recruitment of two new members to the team follows the recent successes of Knight Frank in this area, where they have acted on two of the UK’s largest retail deals so far this year. These were the £150m acquisition of 50% of Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth for Invesco and the £332m acquisition of the Hermes Outlet Mall portfolio for Land Securities. These deals, amongst others, give Knight Frank a 60% market share of shopping centre/outlet mall deals completed so far this year.
The team were also at the head of the agency league table in the high street sector for the first quarter of 2017 with nine completed transactions and a near 30% market share according to Property DataBank.
Charlie Barke, Head of Shopping Centre and High Street investment at Knight Frank commented: “We are pleased to welcome Sam and Will, two rising stars of the retail agency world, into our thriving capital markets team. We have enjoyed a good run of success recently and have a number of exciting new projects on the horizon”.
