MEPC, the manager and developer of Milton Park has welcomed endurance race organisers, Ironman, to the leading business and science park in Oxfordshire.
The company behind the world’s toughest one-day triathlon challenge will take 2,227 sq ft of modern office space at 6G Park Square, which is located in the heart of the park.
With offices across the globe covering events in the rest of Europe, the Americas, Oceania, Asia and Africa, the US-born business has moved to Milton Park following a quadrupling of participants in the past four years in the UK. The move will help facilitate its ambitions to move further into the endurance sector with new events being developed.
The news comes as MEPC recently announced that work has started on site at the 7.6 acre Park Drive East. This is one of Oxfordshire’s largest speculative office and laboratory developments with three separate buildings including a Grade-A office building as well as two hi-tech laboratory facilities.
James Dipple, CEO at MEPC, said: “Ironman is a great addition to the impressive line-up of occupiers we boast at Milton Park and shows what a diverse mix of businesses we attract. As a globally-recognised brand, Ironman will be an asset to the park and is hoped to reinforce Milton Park’s international appeal.
“We received very strong interest in this building, which illustrates the ongoing demand for well-located units, particularly from well-known companies such as Ironman. We wish them every success in the future.”
Kevin Stewart, Managing Director of Ironman UK, said: “Ironman moved to Oxfordshire in 2011 and have since grown from five to 25 employees. With the latest expansion, we were looking for high quality office space with good transport links and the ability to attract new staff to fill key positions. We are pleased to be joining so many successful business on the Park and I hope that our presence will encourage more staff at the park to take up swim, bike, run with Ironman.”
MEPC dealt directly with Ironman on the deal.
