Biomass heater specialist Igen Renewables has acquired a 30,000 sq ft factory at Rassau, Ebbw Vale.
The company, which was formed four years ago, supplies and installs biomass boilers for companies, and has acquired Unit 44 on Rassau Industrial Estate to house its boiler business and to enable it to create a new biomass fuel-producing company, Dragon Wood Products.
Co-owner Keith Cannon said: “Business has been going well and the larger new premises will enable us to grow both parts of the business.
“We have taken on a lease but hope to go on and purchase the building at the end of this year.”
Igen has signed a 10 year lease on the 29,455 sq ft premises which sits on a 2.218 acre site. Landlord Cwmtillery Glass Centre was advised by the Cardiff office of commercial property consultancy Knight Frank.
Igen Renewables hopes to recruit at least three new people locally during 2017.
