A property consultancy is expanding its national development team based in Leicestershire to cope with demand, after completing on sales of more than £80 million of development land in the last year.
Fisher German has appointed a new development surveyor and graduate development surveyor at its office in Ashby de la Zouch.
Ross Jackson has moved back to his Midlands roots to join the business as a development surveyor after working for Savills’ commercial team in London.
He will be working on strategic and immediate development opportunities, as well as professional valuations.
Amy Bowden has been appointed as graduate development surveyor and will be working towards a planning and development RICS accredited degree. She joins the company after time spent as a Policy Events Officer at the Industry and Parliament Trust.
The appointments come after the team completed on development land sales in excess of £80 million during 2016/17 which had planning permission for a total in excess of 1,400 residential units.
Currently, the team is acting on strategic development land across the UK which has the potential to deliver more than 25,000 new homes, and has consented land on the market with an anticipated value in excess of £165 million.
Ben Marshalsay, head of the development sector at Fisher German, said: “We’re delighted to be expanding the team with the appointments of both Ross and Amy, which come at a time when nationwide demand for the services we offer continues to grow.
“In the last 12 months we have acted on a number of major developments and disposed of development land from as far south as West Sussex, right up to Cheshire, and have an enviable pipeline of development opportunities coming up in 2017 from across the UK.
“We will also be acting on landmark development sites in Derby, Lichfield, Bedford, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, while continuing to grow our portfolio of clients.”
