Harris Lamb has expanded its retail team with the appointment of graduate surveyor Alex Evans.
Alex, who has worked with a number of breweries and pub companies, will bring his knowledge of the sector and its retail patterns to provide valuable insight to the team.
David Walton, head of retail, said: “Over the past few years we’ve developed a strong foothold within the retail sector, working with key clients to aid their UK growth programmes by identifying and acquiring new sites on high streets and in shopping centres or out-of-town retail parks all over the country.
“Further to branching out into licensed and leisure premises in September last year, we’re now delighted to welcome Alex to our team.
“Alex has a strong background in the licensed and leisure business and this made him an ideal fit in the retail team with the evolving retail property market and the changes on the high street. The high street is evolving from a pure retail location to an experience that includes dining, drinking and alternative leisure uses as the customers evolve and internet shopping habits change.”
Alex said: “The property industry was a clear choice when deciding to continue with my education and professional development, providing a broad and interesting forum to forge a career in a new sector.
“As well as having an excellent industry reputation and providing the variety of experience necessary to qualify, Harris Lamb stood out to me as a champion of both its people and independence.”
Harris Lamb’s clients include Punch Taverns, the Ei Group (formerly Enterprise Inns), Wrapchic, PizzaStorm and Poundstretcher.
