CBRE’s North West Industrial Agency team has completed the sale of two major industrial parks in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria amounting to a total of over 133,000 sq ft. Together, the well-located sites of Sandscale Park and Meeting Industrial Park total 37.5 acres.
Acting on behalf of Partylite, CBRE has sold Sandscale Park, a 30-acre industrial site in Barrow-in-Furness. The site was sold to JJC for an undisclosed sum. Located just off the A590 Park Road, the extensive site comprises a 100,000 sq ft warehouse unit with offices. Sandscale Park is well connected to national and overseas destinations, three miles from Barrow Docks and within a half-hour drive of the M6 motorway.
CBRE’s second deal in the Barrow-in-Furness area is the sale of Meeting Industrial Park on behalf of Gyrodata to HBP. Meeting comprises a modern, detached warehouse unit of 33,772 sq ft and includes a secure yard on a total site of 7.5 acres. The warehouse unit is comprised of ground and first floor offices and includes substantial car parking and 2 acres of surfaced and landscaped yard. Another 4.5 acres of unsurfaced land exists for expansion. The site is well-located off the A590, leading into South Lakes and the M6, close to Barrow Docks and 1.8 miles from rail links.
Barrow-in-Furness has seen significant industry expansion in recent years, with long-term investment in the energy and shipbuilding sectors. Local occupiers include BAE Systems, Pirelli, GlaxoSmithKline, Kimberly Clark, Sellafield Ltd, United Biscuits, Siemens, McBride and L-3 Communications.
Paul Cook, Senior Director of Industrial Agency at CBRE Manchester, said:
“These deals in Barrow are reflective of the area’s continued success as a logistics and business location. The connectivity via road and rail makes it an attractive destination for occupiers and the success of both industrial parks is testament to the continued interest and confidence in the area.”
