New Chapter, leading FMCG and retail brand recruitment firm, has completed its office move to the prestigious Wellington Place development in Leeds city centre, managed by MEPC.
The space, occupying over 2,000 square feet of the third floor of 10 Wellington Place, will house its existing work force, while remaining large enough to permit team growth over the coming years. The move, has formed part the firm’s ambitious expansion plans, which has seen the company grow from humble beginnings of two recruitment professionals 12 years ago, to over 35 across its Leeds and London offices.
New Chapter chose Wellington Place out of all available office space in the city centre due to its proximity to the business community, overall development design and the community activities created by MEPC, which includes a work-place choir, creative writing courses, knitting clubs and beekeeping as part of the package.
Mike Lowery, Managing Director of New Chapter Leeds, said “When it came to selecting our new offices, we had a long list of things that we wanted due to a number of factors key to the business but ultimately, we were looking to create a great place to work and do business. In order to attract and retain the best people, we believe in the idea of a creative workspace, which is what we’ve achieved with the help of Absolute Commercial Interiors, which conducted our office fit-out to include a pool table, bar and chill out areas.
“Outside of this, we needed activities and services that would help the team bond, which is why Wellington Place is the perfect place to base our operations. We’re already looking to set up our own five-a-side football team thanks to access to MEPC’s all-weather pitch, in addition to encouraging our more musical team members to join the Wellington Place Choir.”
James Dipple, CEO of MEPC, added: “I’m delighted that New Chapter has chosen to move to 10 Wellington Place as part of its commitment to develop the business. Number 10 which was the first of the buildings to be completed as part of the new development, is now home to a number of prominent Leeds businesses since it was completed in 2014. We feel this is testament to our commitment to providing superb quality office and retail space, as well as our ability to provide a dedicated and responsive customer service.
“As the development grows and new buildings complete, the on-site services and amenities, such as the state-of-the-art gym, bars and restaurants will expand. In addition our commitment to offering over an acre of public space, is a feature New Chapter and our existing customers continue particularly enjoy. We’d like to wish the team at New Chapter every success in its new home and we’ll look forward to welcoming many new businesses to the Wellington Place community, as our development expands.”
