Developers A E Stuart & Sons and Midas Developments have recently completed construction of a new 70,000 sq ft (6,503 sq m) distribution warehouse for KandyToys’ in the new phase of development at Hill Barton Business Park.
KandyToys, which already occupies a substantial warehouse of a similar size at Hill Barton Business Park, took the opportunity to expand into a new bespoke facility to allow for growth within the company. The new property was designed to suit their exacting needs and will provide for a more practical and effective use of space.
Managing Director of KandyToys, David Kirkby comments: “We are really pleased to have moved into our new building and have been impressed that such a large property can be built so quickly. KandyToys are expanding and this new facility will accommodate our needs into the future.
“We have been based at Hill Barton for eleven years, not least because the location is ideally located for our logistic requirements and this new building has allowed us to remain at Hill Barton for the foreseeable future,” he added.
Alder King is the appointed marketing agent for the new phase of development at Hill Barton. Dominic Rosenbaum from Alder King’s Exeter Office said: “Hill Barton is a well established and successful business park that is situated on the popular eastern side of Exeter. For a long time Exeter has suffered from a lack of readily available quality industrial land for new development, but the latest phase of development at Hill Barton offers 20 acres of new employment land giving easy access to Junction 30 of the M5.
“The new Kandy Toys building has opened up the site for further development. The infrastructure is in place allowing the developers to offer immediately deliverable design and build opportunities.
“The Park can accommodate industrial and distribution properties from 10,000 to 100,000 sq ft (929 to 9,290 sq m) available on a freehold or leasehold basis and bespoke designs, like that achieved for KandyToys, which can be tailored to meet specific occupier requirements.”
Hill Barton Business Park occupies a strategic location off the A3052 that links Exeter to Sidmouth and is approximately 2 miles to the east of Junction 30 of the M5 motorway. Hill Barton also offers a range of existing buildings and secure open yards.
