Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has appointed Majid Hussain as a tax director in its Guildford office, strengthening the private client practice.
Majid is a qualified barrister and chartered tax adviser. He was previously with Deloitte and specialises in all aspects of private client tax with a special interest in non UK domiciles and private equity executives.
Majid joins BDO to build on its significant presence in the private client arena and to enhance its standing as a leading provider of specialist tax advice to high net worth clients. He further strengthens the Guildford team by joining Michael Flaherty who joined as a tax partner in summer 2016, therefore bolstering BDO’s private client offering in the south.
Majid is also joined by two additional hires at manager level; Charlotte Wates (formerly of Saffery Champness and Deloitte) and Alice Flaxman (formerly of Saffery Champness and RSM).
Michael Flaherty tax partner said “Our recent hires demonstrate BDO’s clear commitment in investing in and enhancing our private client offering in the south and I am delighted that Majid, Charlotte and Alice have joined the team. The BDO private client practice is known for its depth and breadth of expertise and excellent client service. This will be further enhanced by these experienced and high calibre recruits at this busy time in the world of tax.”
