Following a comprehensive refurbishment programme, a 346,000 sq ft facility at Greens Industrial Park in Wakefield has welcomed a new occupier.
Acting on behalf of Cording Real Estate Group, the Northern European real estate investment and asset management firm, joint leasing agents JLL and Vickers Carnley have concluded a letting of 47,609 sq ft with engineering machinery supplier, Group Rhodes Limited. This latest property deal leaves just 15,000 sq ft of available space across two units.
Tom Asher, associate director at JLL, said: “This letting supports the extensive refurbishment strategy Cording implemented, which went beyond what we usually see from such landlords. The increased levels of demand we have seen is testament to the quality of space now on offer”.
Peter Dove, Head of Asset Management and Property Management at Cording, added: “This latest transaction confirms our strategy of investing in strong areas like Wakefield, where demand for large units with cranes at affordable rents is rare. This is a pattern we are seeing around the country but particularly across the Northern Powerhouse region, where demand from heavy industry is growing, supported strongly by active local council enterprise teams”.
Group Rhodes is an engineering manufacturing firm, which has been established in Wakefield for more than 100 years and joins other long-established firms like Greens Power Ltd, Glasscraft Decorative Ltd, BZT Developments and TEI on the park.
Lee Carnley at Vickers Carnley, concluded: “It is fantastic news for the local Wakefield economy and we look forward to using the momentum to fill the remaining vacant units.”
Greens Industrial Park is located on Calder Vale Road approximately half a mile south of Wakefield city centre.
