Salmon Harvester Properties (SHP) is to speculatively develop a 68,000 sq ft warehouse and industrial scheme in Sawston, south Cambridgeshire
Known as Cambridge South, the first phase of 11 warehouses ranging in size from 1,650 sq ft to 22,000 sq ft will be built on four acres of a seven-acre site. Planning permission is in place so that construction will start in the Autumn with practical completion targeted for mid-2018.
The scheme will have a value of £12 million on completion.
Salmon Director Pat Mahoney said: “Having reviewed the striking imbalance between supply and demand of new industrial units in the Cambridge region, we have decided to build out this consented scheme. We anticipate very strong occupier interest in our units and expect a number to be pre-let ahead of practical completion”.
Cambridge South is located close to the M11 motorway and at the intersection of the A11 and A505.
Units will be let on traditional leases or sold to owner-occupiers and Savills and Carter Jonas are joint disposal agents.
