Local contractor Dudley’s Aluminium is set to begin work on another Central Square development project later this Spring, by installing the façade at Two Central Square, in conjunction with Rightacres Property.
The Cardiff-based contractor has secured a contract with ISG Construction to install the aluminium glazing and exterior fixtures at the site.
Dudley’s will once again be working closely with Rightacres Property, the developer of Central Square, to ensure that the project continues to meet the high standards that are required from such a development.
Engineers from Dudley’s Aluminium will install Kawneer capped and structural silicone glazed curtain walling with extended feature cappings, revolving doors, circle slide doors, as well as automatic and manual swing doors.
Dudley’s Aluminium has played a key role in the development of Central Square, having been involved with the construction of One Central Square and the BBC Cymru Wales Headquarters.
Speaking about Dudley’s role at Central Square, Managing Director Colin Shorney, said: “We are delighted to have secured another contract to work on the construction of Two Central Square. We have been heavily involved at the site over the last year and a half and look forward to getting started on the latest development.
“It’s incredible looking back to think how much the landscape of Cardiff’s city centre has changed and we are proud to be so heavily involved in a project that will provide a real economic boost for the city. Completing the development will be a real landmark project for our company.”
Two Central Square is the latest office development in the heart of Cardiff’s city centre and will provide approximately 150,000 sq ft of new office space. The building has been pre-let to Hugh James and Cardiff University School of Journalism.
Dudley’s engineers will start working at the site in May and are expected to complete the work by the Spring of 2018.
