Building and Civil Engineering company Britcon has completed two further multi million pound new concept stores for Lidl in Newark and Mablethorpe.
The ‘Lidl of the Future’ (LOF) store design is being rolled out by Lidl as it progresses a £1.5bn expansion programme across the UK.
All new stores consistently feature a state of the art, glass fronted design, maximising natural light exposure with the latest energy efficiency technologies to minimise environmental impact. Internally the stores are more spacious, with much enhanced shopping and welfare facilities as well as advanced warehouse processes.
In Newark, Britcon redeveloped the former Esso petrol station and Co-operative Food site on London Road, Balderton. It delivered a new 2,443 sqm LOF store with 130 new car parking spaces.
In Mablethorpe, Britcon demolished an existing Lidl on Stanley Avenue to build a larger 2,701 sqm LOF store and 100 car parking spaces.
This brings the total number of Lidl contracts for Britcon to thirteen in just two years across new stores, extensions and refurbishments.
