It was high fives all round for national fit out and refurbishment specialist Overbury after it scooped an impressive haul at a prestigious annual construction awards ceremony.
It was handed five awards – two gold, two silver and a bronze – at the Considerate Constructors Regional Awards for four projects delivered in Birmingham and one in Leicester.
Andrew Wood, operations director at Overbury, said: “Only once before has Overbury won two gold awards in one year, so to achieve this is simply astounding and highlights what, with consideration and planning, our sites are capable of achieving.
“I am absolutely delighted for all the people whose hard work was recognised. They should be extremely proud of their achievements.”
The fit out and refurbishment project carried out at Birmingham’s Louisa House for Acivico, and Edmund Street for HSBC, received the top accolade at the event in Manchester. Overbury site managers Jason Walls, Scott Tullett, Steve Allman and Mike Burrows collected the awards for their work on the projects.
Jason Walls and Scott Tullett also collected a silver for delivering a stunning space at the Library of Birmingham for Brasshouse Language School. A project carried out for Leicester City Council and IBM won Overbury’s second silver of the night, and was awarded to Steve Allman, Mark Smith, Mark Gerald and Mike Burrows.
Finally, Mark Ward received a bronze award for a refurbishment and fit out at Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK’s new HQ, at Birmingham Business Park.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a non-profit-making, independent organisation founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image.
Construction sites, companies and suppliers voluntarily register with the Scheme and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.
