Worcestershire commercial property consultancy GJS Dillon has secured the largest office sale in Worcestershire in the last 18 months, helping its client to re-locate into central Birmingham.
John Dillon, managing director of GJS Dillon, which has offices in Droitwich, Bromsgrove and Worcester, sold 15,917 sq ft of freehold office space at Lombard House and The Forum Building, Worcester Road, Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire, DY13 9BZ, to a private investor for £1.3 million.
Lombard House and The Forum Building is the former head office of Thomas Vale Construction which has been absorbed by its parent company Bouygues UK into its larger Midlands operation and moved from Stourport into a new office in Birmingham city centre. The property is situated on the western side of the main A4025 Worcester Road, approximately a quarter of a mile east of Stourport town centre.
The sale was secured in the initial two weeks of GJS Dillon’s marketing campaign and has moved quickly to completion.
Mr Dillon says: “We are delighted to secure the largest freehold office transaction in Worcestershire in the past 18 months in less than two weeks, helping our client Bouygues UK with its plans to move its office staff into a centralised office in Birmingham. The quick sale shows the continuing strength of demand for modern purpose built offices in the county.
“Worcestershire has seen strong take up of office space in recent months with occupiers being encouraged by the county being one of the most productive economic areas in England, combined with a flexible workforce, key lifestyle factors and assistance from the LEP, County Council and other public sector bodies. This take-up trend is set to continue well into 2017.”
