Job purpose
A new opportunity to become part of the expanding quantity surveying team within our established project consultancy teams, to enhance and support the main business’ growth plans. You will work as part of the Cost Consultancy team, providing high calibre professional advice to key clients.

Context
Tuffin Ferraby Taylor is a professional building consultancy with over 43 years in business. We are enjoying the success achieved through becoming one of the largest independent practices of our kind. We have over 120 partners and employees operating from a network of offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Guildford, London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
TFT has successfully developed a Cost Consultancy service line in the south east and as part of the business growth aspirations, are looking to build upon these successes in the Midlands.
Key accountabilities
1.0 To deliver cost planning and cost management services in relation to construction projects and in support of the Cost Consultancy team in the Midlands and London.
2.0 To deliver and develop the cost consultancy service line in the Midlands and support Cost Consultancy growth. Expand the existing offer to key clients within residential, office, retail and industrial portfolios.
3.0 Help expand the cost consultancy service line within TFT.
Performance criteria
1.0 Sound knowledge of building contracts
2.0 Ability to meet and exceed fee targets
3.0 Experience in the commercial, residential, Industrial and retail sector.
4.0 Ability to demonstrate experience of good client relationship management and self management
5.0 Proven track record of delivery of successful delivery of commercial cost consultancy at a high level as well as a recognised profile in the area
Skills and behaviour
1.0 BSc Quantity Surveying (minimum of 2:1)
2.0 MRICS qualified
3.0 Deliver services with autonomy and engender confidence in clients
4.0 Must be a good team player but able to work independently
5.0 Confident, client facing communicator both verbally and in writing
6.0 Commercially focussed:
6.1 Capable of developing contacts to win new business (particularly in the Midlands)
6.2 Socially adept and ability to network at business development events
7.0 Leadership qualities to assist in team and office growth
8.0 Be involved in creating successful new and existing client relationships through networking and business development
