Tastes from across the globe are being brought to Coventry by a city developer and a commercial property specialist
CDP’s Priory Place in Coventry city centre has been reconfigured to attract smaller, independent food outlets and already six units have been snapped up.
James Brookes, of commercial agent Shortland Penn + Moore, is the agent on the scheme which is already home to the BBC and Nandos. And, while pleased with the success, he is hungry for further lettings.
He said: “It has been a great success. The larger units at Priory Place had previously been occupied but when new tenants could not be found CDP decided to look at the development in a fresh light and we have helped them on that.
“By making a series of smaller units, it has helped to attract a different kind of occupier and to great effect.
“We now have deals signed with food outlets that will offer everything from Nigerian cuisine to Turkish food – so tastes from around the world.”
Ian Harrabin, of CDP, said: “There are only a handful of units left and there is good interest. In the current market, you have to be swift on your feet and we have seen an opportunity here to create a different kind of food quarter. So far, it appears to be working.”
