Commercial real estate investment and development company, Chris Stewart Group (CSG), has expanded its senior management team with an eye to future acquisitions and investments.
CSG, which has completed more 750,000 sq ft of development (with another 500,000 sq ft currently in Edinburgh and Glasgow either in the planning, design or construction stages) sees increasing opportunity and demand for its expertise in urban regeneration and has appointed an experienced project director and a new member to its deal origination team.
Tim Currie is an RICS qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Project Director, and brings 25 years’ experience in the delivery of projects across multiple industry sectors in the UK and across Europe. Previously within the capital projects team at CSRE, Goldman Sachs International, his skills ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the requisite quality standards.
With more than 10 years’ experience in the commercial real estate market, Rory Stephens joins CSG to help identify new acquisition and development opportunities in key cities across the UK.
Following six years working with DTZ’s Scottish capital markets team Rory joined Lloyds Banking Group where he advised on the asset management and disposal of the bank’s non-core loan book across the UK and Ireland over three years. Most recently Rory worked with Manse LLP, an Edinburgh based developer working in partnership with Palmer Capital.
Chris Stewart, CEO of the award-winning Chris Stewart Group, welcomed Rory and Tim to the company which now employs more than 75. He said:
“As a specialist investor, developer and operator we are finding that new opportunities for regeneration projects, as well as office and leisure developments, are increasingly put our way. It is an exciting place to be and in order to maximise this position, I’m delighted to welcome both Rory and Tim to the team.
“High quality urban regeneration requires a unique set of skills and both Rory and Tim bring a wealth of experience and expertise to expand our capacity to put these complex projects together.
“There are still a number of key regeneration sites in Scotland’s cities – as well as across the UK. We aim to be selective, assess and mitigate any risks and apply our design expertise – and we’re set up to do just that.”
