UK top 200 corporate law firm, Shulmans LLP, is building on its enviable reputation in the property industry with the appointments of two new lawyers. Both join the firm’s double-award winning Real Estate team, regarded as one of the strongest in the UK. 23 people have already joined Shulmans this financial year. These most recent hires are joining a firm with a clear growth plan, which has secured notable client wins and resulted in double-digit growth over the past six years.
Kate Johnson, formerly of Eversheds, joins Shulmans as an Associate and brings almost 20 years’ experience in the commercial property sector. Johnson’s extensive knowledge includes work on complex retail, industrial and mixed use developments, freehold disposals and acquisitions, landlord and tenant matters and portfolio management; acting on behalf of prominent clients from across the UK.
Further strengthening the team is Emma Thomas who joins the firm after 10 years at DLA Piper. Her specialties include advising on planning issues for the commercial property, residential, retail and energy sectors including the negotiation and drafting of complex infrastructure agreements. Thomas also advises on proposed lawful development, planning enforcement issues and compulsory purchase matters, in addition to having specific expertise in town and village green issues.
