Leading property consultancy JLL in Scotland has won Office Agency Team of the Year for the second year running, and Investment Team of the Year at the 2017 Scottish Property Awards, held in Edinburgh (2 March).
JLL’s Scotland team, with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, beat off strong competition from CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, Lambert Smith Hampton, Ryden and Savills to land top honours in both the Office Agency Team and Investment Agency Team of the year categories.
The 4th annual Scottish Property Awards, which celebrates excellence in commercial property, was attended by over 700 guests at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh.
In a good year for JLL’s office agency and investment teams across Scotland, the commercial property market remained resilient despite latent fears over Brexit.
JLL also reported a significant change of investor profile over the course of 2016, with foreign investment as a proportion of total investment in Edinburgh’s office market, increasing significantly. In 2016, 90 per cent of purchases were accounted for by overseas investors compared with 50 per cent in 2014.
Alasdair Humphery, Lead Director for Scotland at JLL commented: “The past 12 months have been uniquely challenging for both Scotland’s occupiers and its commercial property investment community. To be recognised as the best in both categories is testament to the hard work and dedication of our colleagues in navigating untested waters and delivering the very best service for our clients. Our success for the second consecutive year as Office Agency Team of the Year is particularly pleasing, and reflects our strength and position to deal with the occupational markets as they unfold in 2017.”
