The small businesses community in Wiltshire is due to receive a boost thanks to Hawke Ridge Business Park.
Plans have revealed that the 35-acre park between Trowbridge and Westbury will give owners of small businesses the opportunity to future proof their companies at Wiltshire’s newest business park.
Property developers HPH Ltd have submitted a Detailed Planning Application to Wiltshire Council for a small business unit scheme providing 53,500 sq.ft. of much needed commercial space.
The scheme, to be called Kestrel Court, will include 20 units ranging in size from 1,500 sq.ft. to 5,500 sq.ft. There will also be parking for 99 vehicles, secure parking for 20 bicycles and electric vehicle charging points.
The application signals an exciting new phase in the development of the £50 million Hawke Ridge Business Park.
Chris Wordsworth, Development Director at HPH Ltd, said “Although we have the capacity to accommodate large space users at Hawke Ridge Business Park we also want to create facilities that enable businesses of all sizes to thrive and succeed.
“We are offering occupiers an array of benefits from modern efficient buildings to ultrafast broadband, which will not only support their business today but future proof their operations.
“This latest detailed planning application for 20 commercial units is specifically designed with the small business community in mind. We have already had a huge amount of interest in the units which demonstrates the current lack of supply in Wiltshire.”
Hawke Ridge Business Park will offer occupiers an unusually high level of connectivity with fibre connections to not just one but two providers.
Virgin is offering Hawke Ridge tenants the option of four broadband services for up to 300mbs using Superfast and Ultra-fast fibre connections to their own national fibre network. BT Openreach can provide a standard broadband service of up to 16mbs download, a fibre optic broadband service of up to 76mbs download and dedicated Internet broadband service of up to 10gbs download and upload.
Around £2 million worth of works has already been completed at Hawke Ridge Business Park including a new roundabout, access roads, connection to mains services, landscaping, bus shelters and new signage.
Detailed Planning Permission has already been secured for the first four larger footprint business units. They vary in size from 8,700sq ft to 36,300 sq ft. with a total area of 72,300 sq ft.
HPH have also submitted plans to Wiltshire Council for a 10,400 sq ft Roadside scheme fronting the entrance roundabout including a drive-through, three retail/takeaway units, a convenience store and associated parking.
