Three firms have found a new home in an extensively refurbished 63,232 sq ft warehouse in Rearsby, featuring modern facilities including new roofing fitted with solar panels, thanks to swift, sound advice from commercial property experts Mather Jamie.
St George’s House on Gaddesby Lane is now home to audiobook and large print publishers W.F. Howes, insulation specialists BillSaveUK, and Gamble Food Storage Solutions. Between them, the three firms employ more than 100 people at the site.
The units, which all featured new roof insulation, proved extremely popular and were let swiftly, in part due to improved energy efficiency ratings, which have reduced energy costs for the tenants, and the site’s good transport links to the M1, Leicester and Nottingham.
Shaun Sibley, Chief Executive of W.F. Howes, said; “This renovated unit was ideal for us, as we needed office and warehousing space and it offered an attractive mix of both. Being based here also means we have reduced our carbon footprint, and our energy bill is now half the size of what it used to be at our former premises.”
Alex Reid, Director of Mather Jamie, said, “With industrial premises at a premium in Leicestershire, innovative refurbishments can give a property the edge over others in the market. The work done on St. George’s House is an excellent example of an established property given a new lease of life through refurbishment and modernisation of old space.”
