A new luxury hotel is set to be unveiled after a historic multi-million pound Grade I listed property once home to the likes of Queen Victoria was sold.
Business advisory Cooper Parry, which has offices across the Midlands, ended a search to find a new owner for Kinmel Hall – the largest private residential property in Wales set in 18 acres of land.
Tyrone Courtman, Partner and Head of Business Restructuring Recovery and Insolvency Services at Cooper Parry, who led the search alongside fellow partner Nick Edwards after being appointed fixed charge receivers, said the new proprietor, who they cannot name, planned to turn the site into a luxury hotel.
The property attracted interest from across the world from India and Canada.
Mr Courtman said: “We are delighted to have finally sold Kinmel Hall to a buyer who understands its heritage and is committed to the property. It is a unique property steeped in character and history and once it is renovated, it will look and feel beautiful.
“The new owner has experience of turning sites like Kinmel Hall into attractive luxury hotels so the site will get investment and the attention it deserves and we look forward to how it progresses.
“The site still needs some work on it to get it to which has begun and may take some while but the end results are set to be spectacular.
“The heritage of the site including the monarchs who have lived there and the fact it was modelled on the splendour of the Palace of Versailles in France and retains this character was the reason we received inquiries from a lot of potential investors around the world.”
During the sale process, Mr Courtman and his team had to put in place measures to protect the fabric of the site including installing security systems.
