CBRE has announced the senior appointment of Oliver Thomas, who will be joining CBRE’s expanding North West Building Consultancy Team as Senior Director.
The new appointment will add another layer of experience to the successful Building team, who completed on several high-profile projects throughout last year and are now looking to strengthen its position within the region.
Oliver Thomas, who returns to CBRE from OBI Property, has been brought in to capitalise on opportunities within the Manchester and the North West market.
Senior Director and Head of the North West Team, Angela Seddon, will be broadening her role undertaking more national responsibilities, as Oliver takes over management of the Manchester team.
Speaking on the appointment, Angela Seddon said: “We have developed the team over the last 12-months, gaining a dynamic mix of people, enabling us to strengthen the division.”
CBRE made a series of key appointments within its North West Building Consultancy team last year, with seven new recruits, and the team now has 29 members working from the Manchester and Liverpool offices. The teams have been working on an extensive portfolio of high-profile projects, with recent works including the new Freedome trampoline park at Coliseum Leisure Park, Ellesmere Port, which is the first brought to the UK by American firm Sky Zone, award winning office fit outs for New Balance and recently nominated Maersk, the recent completion of Dunnhumby’s new Manchester office at City Tower, and MWH’s fit out at the Soapworks, Salford Quays.
Seddon went on to say: “With the addition of Oliver in the team, I am confident that we now hold unrivalled expertise within the regional market. Oliver brings great commercial experience, commitment to client service and an exceptional skillset to the team.
“The appointment also enables us to increase our specialist areas and widen our client base, setting the foundations for further expansion throughout the North West.
“We are delighted with Oliver’s return to CBRE and we have no doubt that our clients will join us in welcoming him back.”
Oliver Thomas commented: “I am looking forward to the new challenge that returning to CBRE will pose. I will be focusing primarily on broadening our client base, pushing forward our project management capabilities and strengthening our commercial focus. The UK has a continually evolving marketplace, requiring tailored advice and bespoke services to support our unrivalled client base with their real estate decisions.
“CBRE are experts in commercial property, with the CBRE North West offices boasting a lot of strength in depth. I am looking forward to working with the Agency, Investment and Property Management teams to capitalise on a very active and positive market place in Manchester and the North West,” continued Thomas.
