Siltbuster, a water treatment solutions company, has bought a 10-acre site in Monmouth to facilitate its expansion plans with national commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) handling the terms of the sale on behalf of the landlord.
The acquisition represents a 4.3 million pound investment by Siltbuster which has operated out of three separate sites in Monmouth since the business was founded in 2000.
The company has outgrown its current facilities at Unipure House and is to relocate its entire operation to the new site on Wonastow Road. Here it will have the space to take its headcount from 48 to 120 staff as part of a recruitment drive up to 2020.
Siltbuster has become the leading solutions provider for on-site water treatment, wet waste processing and the prevention of waterborne pollution in the UK.
Business Unit Manager Richard Coulton says: “This move will allow us to expand our market share considerably given the scale of the site coupled with the strength of a location close to good arterial roads that connect us easily to all parts of the UK.
“By staying in Monmouth we are able to retain what has become a loyal and well established workforce,” he adds, “which we plan to enhance through the recruitment of a number of engineering-focused disciplines, from engineering and design roles to logistics and associated support staff.”
Siltbuster’s core business is providing a fleet of large-scale water treatment equipment for the construction industry, food and drinks market as well as water utility companies with the equipment available mostly to hire but also to purchase.
Bespoke new 2,000 sq mt headquarters that includes offices, workshop, warehousing and a storage yard have been designed and are under construction at the new site with the relocation phased and set to be complete by September 2017.
Comments Owen Griffiths, Associate Director at LSH: “Siltbuster has become a key employer in Monmouth so we are pleased to have played a part in delivering a site that keeps them in the area and gives this impressive business room for further growth.
“This particular deal forms part of a wider strategy for the adjoining development land where we as marketing agents are looking to add to the job creation opportunities and the local economy.”
