Niche logistics property specialist Burbage Realty has announced four new appointments, three promotions and the opening of a West End office.
Cameron Mitchell has joined following a spell of garden leave. He will concentrate on development activities across the Midlands and beyond while strengthening relationships with key developer clients including Prologis, Roxhill and Goodman. Cameron arrives from Jones Lang La Salle where he was Joint National Head of Logistics based in Birmingham.
George Underwood, a Partner at Gerald Eve, is going to head up an investment led office which will open at 37 Soho Square in April. Sophia Bell is also joining from Gerald Eve and starts with Burbage Realty this month as a Senior Surveyor. George and Sophia will focus on investment and funding transactions across the UK. Logistics as an asset class will outperform other sectors with strong rental growth resulting from the structural change in consumer shopping patterns.
Tom Kimbell, a Principal at Avison Young in Coventry, has been poached and will join Burbage Realty to grow the business coverage further. There is an increased pace of letting activity arising from the burgeoning demand for space created by the growth of online retail and the strength of UK manufacturing. Tom was a Partner at North Rae Sanders when the business was acquired by Avison Young a year ago.
Mitchell has been appointed as an equity director. Underwood and Kimbell will have equity stakes in the business on joining. James Harrison, Franco Capella and Mark Thomas have already been promoted to equity director positions.
John Burbage comments:
“Our strategic land skillset has kept us well ahead of the game and we intend to remain there. The pipeline is incredibly strong and this elite team will offer absolutely the best in class service to clients old and new. We are now around our optimal size with a total focus on logistics and industrial throughout the UK “.
Burbage outbid a celebrity chef and others to secure the 1,000 sq ft self contained ground floor of 37 Soho Square in 2014. He let the suite to luxury British designer brand Gloverall on a 5 year lease but has exercised a break option in order to accommodate the expanding Burbage Realty business.
He concludes:
“By combining investment and development advice together with agency and rent review services we continue to ensure that discerning clients are provided with a full grasp of all the inter-related issues. They can thereby maximise performance from their property assets.”
