Wales’ largest independent estate agency, John Francis, has strengthened its management team with the appointment of a new branch partner at its Pembroke office.
Haydn Shapcott, 33, who lives in Milton, Pembrokeshire, has rejoined the company after a brief stint with a competitor organisation.
Mr Shapcott has eight years experience in the property industry, having started his career as a sales negotiator at John Francis’ Milford Haven branch in 2004. Within two years, and at the age of 26, Mr Shapcott became John Francis’ youngest ever branch manager when he took responsibility of the Pembroke office. As the property market hit uncertain times in 2007, Mr Shapcott became involved in monitoring the changing markets and steering the Pembroke office through a period of global financial uncertainty.
Between 2010 and 2011 Haydn worked in a similar role with a competitor agency, working alongside chartered surveyors, affording him a wider understanding of their role within the sector.
Mr Shapcott will have responsibility for the staff in John Francis’ Pembroke office as well as listing, valuation, property advising and negotiation.
Mr Shapcott said: “Having been born and bred in Pembrokeshire, I know the local property market inside-out and I believe that it’s John Francis’ ability to offer local knowledge and a personal approach that keeps people returning to us time and time again.”
“It’s is a dynamic and evolving firm, which is why I am delighted to return to work for the company.”
Speaking of Mr Shapcott’s appointment, director of John Francis, Nigel Jones, said: “It’s great to welcome Haydn back into the fold. His estate agency experience, coupled with his extensive local knowledge is invaluable as the property market gains momentum and we continue to expand our influence in the Pembroke area.”
