A prominent figure in building consultancy has been appointed by regional commercial property consultancy Hughes Ellard.
Grant Drummond joins as head of building consultancy from Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), where he worked for the past two years within the building consultancy division.
Gary Jeffries, managing director of Hughes Ellard, which has offices on the Cams Hall estate in Fareham and on The Avenue in Southampton, said: “Grant has excellent credentials and is highly respected within the commercial real estate sector.
“Working from both our offices, Grant’s role will be to provide project and cost management services as well as building surveying advice to wider business across our growing southern region.
“He will play an integral role in expanding our already excellent services to clients, from blue-chip property funds and investors to developers and private landlords.”
At his previous job, Grant provided project management and development consultancy to a wide range of corporate clients and funding institutions on a national basis.
Most recently his work has included the delivery of a new production facility in Lymington, extension works to several distribution and sorting facilities for Royal Mail and the development of a bespoke warehouse and production facility in Stansted.
Throughout his time at LSH, Grant also provided fund monitoring services for both HSBC and Close Brothers Finance on various residential and commercial projects across the South and provided development and cost consultancy advice to private clients across the UK.
Prior to joining LSH, Grant worked in various development roles, including as a development director for logistics developer Helioslough and as a European property development manager for warehouse operator Wincanton.
Grant, who is a BSc (Hons) and MRICS, said: “This is such a fantastic opportunity for me to join a vibrant and professional firm that believes in providing a first-class service to its clients. I am very excited about the prospects this provides and look forward to drawing on my experience and knowledge to provide support and advice to both clients and colleagues in the future.”
The appointment follows the departure of Graham Puddle to his former firm, Vail Williams.
