KWB has helped Kellaway Building Supplies Ltd acquire 28,000 sq ft of Worcester industrial space to facilitate their rapid expansion and purchase of a local operator. The acquisition of a property of this size and quality represents a rare opportunity for the area.
Kellaway, a building supplies company that originated in Bristol – named after the street its first branch was opened on – recently acquired the substantial Worcester industrial unit with advice from KWB.
The company has seen an excellent rate of growth in business and was seeking new premises in the Worcester area – following the purchase of a local operator, Premier Timber and Builders Merchants, and to accommodate the increased demand.
The new Worcester premises is located on Trow Way, Diglis, Worcester. Kellaway will occupy the new site from the completion of its fit-out programme, which is now underway.
Kenny Allan, Director of KWB Industrial, said: “The availability of good quality, well-located warehouse buildings in Worcester is extremely rare, and we are delighted to have secured this unit on behalf of our clients.
“The search in Worcester had been ongoing for over 2 years, so to finally find a solution – around the corner from the old Premier Timber premises – was ideal. We look forward to working with Kellaway in the future.”
The opening of this new Worcester branch for Kellaway sees them take their number of branches to 12, with this new outlet being secured on the back of the purchase of Premier Timber and Builders Merchants.
Julian Milligan, Managing Director of Kellaway, said: “I am delighted to see our branch network increase and the Worcester site provides us with an extended reach into a new market. The site at Trow Way will enable us to increase the range and quantity of products that we stock, ultimately enabling us to better meet our customers’ needs.
“We are delighted that the ‘Premier’ team has joined our business and look forward to further investment in the business as we grow the team and enhance the offer to the customer from larger, more suitable premises.
“KWB’s tenacious commitment to finding a property that met our needs was a real credit to their name. We have long term plans for Worcester, and we needed the property to be just right, for now and for the future.”
