GVA has acted on behalf of Odeon Cinemas Limited to provide quantity surveying and supply chain management for two cinema developments.
The leading real estate advisory company has completed a £3 million fit out in Northwich, Cheshire, and a £2 million fit out in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, for the well-known cinema brand.
GVA has provided supply chain, purchase order management and quantity surveying services to Odeon.
The Northwich cinema boasts five screens, 707 seats and one of only five iSense screens in the UK and a 4K digital projector that delivers almost nine million pixels. It benefits from a prime location in the Barons Quay town centre redevelopment with impressive views over the River Weaver.
The Kingston-upon-Thames scheme was a refurbishment of the existing 14-screen cinema including a new Costa Coffee, concessions area and a new lounge screen including a hot food and bar offering.
Paul Chesworth, Quantity Surveying Director at GVA Manchester, said the projects were one phase of a series of projects GVA is working with Odeon on over many years, as part of their long-standing business relationship.
Paul said: “The Northwich cinema is one of the cornerstones of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s (CWAC) £80 million Barons Quay development. It represents the fruition of a major town centre regeneration scheme which has been 20 years in the making.
“At GVA we’ve been working on similar projects across the UK, recently bringing a new cinema to the Oldham town centre redevelopment and working in Bournemouth on a scheme due for completion in early 2017.”
Steve Lavelle, Group Head of Construction at Odeon, said: “GVA are a valued partner on our developments. The recent two Odeon projects represent a continuation of a longstanding relationship with Paul and his team.
“GVA provided a professional and proactive approach to our commercial interests throughout the process.”
