Browne Jacobson has expanded its commercial practice with the appointment of new partner Selina Hinchliffe into its Nottingham office.
Selina was previously a Principal Associate at Eversheds LLP where she spent over four years leading on IP and IT matters.
She is a non-contentious IP transactional lawyer with particular experience of working with clients in the utilities, energy and tech sectors. In addition she has experience of running and managing major strategic technology and IT outsourcing projects as well as private sector IT and commercial arrangements. Selina advises on complex transactional IP matters, drafts and negotiates a range of agreements relating to the exploitation of IP (including technology transfer, licensing, R&D, manufaez & Charles Worthington), amongst others.
She also joins the firm’s technology team who advise private and public sector clients, including some of the world’s leading brands, on large scale, business critical IT projects, international patent litigation cases and complex, multi-jurisdictional data protection and privacy issues. Her arrival follows the recent appointment of specialist data privacy and cyber security partner Mark Gleeson and patent litigation partner Kathleen Fox Murphy in the firm’s London office.
Declan Cushley, partner and Head of the Commercial and Technology Group and Intellectual Property team at Browne Jacobson said:
“Selina’s appointment is fantastic news for the commercial group and will really help us to further bolster the breadth and depth of our already excellent skill set.”
Paula Dumbill, partner in the firm’s commercial group, commented:
“Selina is a first class lawyer and will be a great fit with our existing and prospective clients, locally, nationally and internationally.”
Selina Hinchliffe added:
“I am delighted to be joining a firm with an excellent reputation as leading legal experts and a team that is going from strength to strength.”
This latest appointment takes the number of fee earners across Browne Jacobson’s five office network to over 480 and follows on from a successful year for the law firm which saw it post a record turnover of £64.3m for 2015/16, named ‘Best Managed National Law Firm’ at the Managing Partners’ Forum (MPF) Awards and received its highest ever rankings in the latest edition of Legal 500, the independent directory of comparative law firm performance.
