Capital & Regional has announced a raft of leasing deals at The Mall Luton, led by a new commitment from anchor retailer JD Sports.
JD Sports has signed a new 10 year lease to occupy a 9,000 sq ft unit in the main Waller Street Mall, upsizing from 4,500 sq ft.
This coincides with similar commitments from Schuh and Holland & Barratt, who have both upsized to new units of 3,400 sq ft and 3,600 sq ft respectively, both on new 10 year leases.
Meanwhile, Capital & Regional continues to expand the catering offer at the Mall Luton, completing deals with Shakeaway and Indian Street food concept Abi’s, with both operators signing ten year leases. Alongside this, the landlord has introduced Burrito Kitchen, Kono Pizza, Jamma Nana’s and Krispy Kremes in bespoke catering kiosks situated around Cheapside Mall.
Gareth Holland, Retail Asset Manager at Capital & Regional, added: “We are continuing to evolve the retail and dining mix at The Mall Luton, where we are seeing strong appetite for space from national and independent brands. The commitment by existing retailers to upsize in the centre demonstrates the continued trading success of The Mall, and gives us great momentum moving into 2017.”
The Mall Luton, located in the town centre, comprises a total of 900,000 sq ft and is home to 158 retailers. The scheme benefits from an immediate catchment of 200,000, with weekly footfall of 400,000.
