With Christmas now just weeks away, Swansea Bay Business Club kicked off the party season in style by hosting their annual Christmas lunch.
Actress and television presenter Connie Fisher joined local businessmen and women at Swansea’s Marriott Hotel to discuss her distinguished career to date and join in the festivities.
Hayley Davies, President of Swansea Bay Business Club, said: “We were thrilled to welcome Connie to our Christmas lunch on Friday. She was positively received by all of our guests as she shared her insights in to her career as singer and television presenter. She also spoke about how her how her drive and ambition aided her in her pursuit up the career ladder, from entering a reality TV contest to achieving her dreams and making it to the West End”
Connie shot to stardom after winning the BBC reality TV show ‘How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?’ landing herself the lead role of Maria in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘The Sound Of Music’. She went on present numerous television shows including ‘Songs of Praise’. She has also hosted her own TV show called ‘Connie’s Musical Map of Wales’ as well as hosting ‘The Connie Fisher Show’ on radio.
Hayley added: “As we look to the New Year, we would like to invite businesses to join us at our next event, an evening of Burns Night celebrations with Aberdeen-born Graeme Yorston, the current Principality CEO. A traditional celebration in honour of our Celtic cousins, the evening will include traditional Scottish fayre, bagpipes and another fantastic opportunity to network.”
The Burns Night event will take place on the evening of Monday 25th January 2017, at the Marriott Hotel in Swansea and will start at 7pm with dinner being served at 7:30pm.
Tickets are available to purchase from the Swansea Bay Business Club website, they are priced at £40 per member and £45.50 for non-members.
Bookings will close at midnight on Tuesday 17th January 2017.
