A joint venture between Boultbee Brooks Real Estate and CBRE Global Investors, advised by Lambert Smith Hampton, RARE and Savills, has secured Herjavec Group and Pharmacosmos as the first two occupiers of 93,000 sq ft The White Building, Kings Road, Reading, following extensive design-led back-to-frame refurbishment.
The comprehensive and innovative upgrade will complete in January 2017 to provide contemporary exposed services design, a communal roof terrace, 1:860 sq ft parking ratio and a concierge reception.
Herjavec Group, which is taking 7,800 sq ft, is one of North America’s fastest-growing technology companies, accelerating from $400K to $140 million in sales annually over 12 years. Pharmacosmos is a privately-owned, specialist pharmaceutical company based in Denmark, which has acquired 5,500 sq ft in The White Building for its UK HQ. Both tenants have signed a ten year lease.
Tom Fletcher, office agency director, LSH Reading office, explains: “The White Building is attracting strong occupier interest due to its highly differentiated style and offering. In addition to the outstanding look and feel, the building’s fundamentals are second to none, with a superb occupational density of one person to every 8 sq m, column free space and Breeam ‘Excellent’ rating.”
James Whitcher, Boutlbee Brooks’ asset manager, added: “We’re delighted that our proactive and tenant-friendly approach is paying off. We are happy to be flexible in the way in which we offer floor space and commercial terms and the result is that we have attracted two international occupiers of Herjavec’s and Pharmacosmos’ calibre, and we look forward to announcing more lettings in the near future.”
