Peterborough based Barnack Estates UK Ltd have recently submitted a planning application for the development of six freehold light industrial/business units on a site close to the Marriott Hotel in Hinchingbrooke Business Park in Huntingdon.
A planning application has been submitted for 6 units ranging in size from 2,050 sq ft to as large as 8,073 sq ft being available by combining units.
Barnack’s Chairman, Rob Facer, commented “We have developed a lot of similar units in the Peterborough and East Anglia area and have experienced a strong demand for the buildings. We are conscious that there is a lack of this type of accommodation in the Huntingdon area as nothing has been built for around 10 years”.
Barnack Estates UK Ltd is a regional property developer, investor, main contractor for design & build and estate management. They have a large portfolio of their own properties and have built 1.9 million square feet of industrial property since 2004.
Barker Storey Matthews have been collaborating with Barnack on the development. Richard Adam of Barker Storey Matthews added “We have seen a strong demand for freehold units over the last 3 years and the buildings are primarily aimed at the freehold market although they will also be available to lease. The design is flexible allowing additional office accommodation to be built if required. Car parking is also excellent with space to 400 sq ft approximately. Construction work will start as soon as planning consent is granted and the buildings will be available for occupation by early Summer 2017”.
